Carol Harris

I started watercolour botanical paintings in 2007 at The Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh.  I booked in for my first ‘Landscape Watercolour Class‘ to find that I had ticked the wrong box and found myself in the beginners botanical illustration class  instead – one lesson and I was hooked.  I have been fortunate enough to have some of the best botanical teachers in the world and have tried dry brush, wet into wet, mixture of both, loose, coloured pencils and pen and ink.  Everyone has their own very unique style and ways of painting.  There are so many variables, so many different types of paper, paints, brushes and painting methods and techniques and I have come to the conclusion that there is no magic bullet – how I paint just suits ‘me’ and I have taken hundreds of wonderful tips and lessons from everyone else.

Painting is to me so enjoyable, meditative and a  magical creative process.  I hope you like my work……….watch this space!!
